Instant Khatta Dhokla । Traditional Gujarati Khatta Dhokla

Today we’ll make Instant Live Dhokla

it is a street food of Gujrat

and made instantly

it tastes different from khaman dhokla

make it either in breakfast
or in childrens’ lunchbox

Let’s get started

to make Instant Live Dhokla

take 6 tbsp of rice flour

6 tbsp semolina

and 1/4 cup of chickpea flour

these flours are taken in different combinations

you van change the combination

you can take 1 cup semolina,

1/4 cup of chickpea flour and
1/4 cup of rice flour

so, you can keep the quantity of rice
as per your choice

or you can mix different varieties of flours to it

you can add moong dal flour

as well as soaked and ground moong dal

or add soaked and ground chana dal

add 1 tsp of ginger chilli paste

if making for kids,
skip the chillies

1/4 tsp of turmeric powder

more than 1/2 tsp of salt

or to taste

and 1/2 cup of curd

mix all the ingredients

now add some water

keep the batter like we make for dhoklas

first finish the kernals

batter is ready

we are making it simple

you can add finely chopped veggies,

grated coconut powder

leave the batter for 10 minutes

to set the semolina

after 10 mins

batter is also ready

now prepare to bake it

take a big pan to bake the dhokla

take a plate like this

that will fit in panl

and place a stand to keep the plate over it

add 2 cups of water in the pan

turn on the flame

and cover it to boil the water fastly

apply some oil to the plate

this is the consistency of the batter

neither too thick

nor too thin

squeeze 1/2 lemon to add sourness

it was big in size, so we took half of it

take full lemon, if small in size

or instead using this
you can add 1/4 tsp of tatri powder

at last, eno fruit salt

add 1/2 tsp of it

add 1 tsp of water to active it instantly

mix it

after adding eno,
do not stir the batter for too long

because the gases by which it is made

are released

so batter is ready

1/2 cup of water is used in this batter

pour the batter in thali

spread evenly

it is spreaded evenly

water is vaporising

place the plate into the pan

sprinkle some red chilli powder over it

if making for kids, skip adding it

cover it and cook it at medium flame
for 12-15 mins

after 15 mins

apply some oil over it,
as it do not have tadka in it

take it out

cut it while it is hot

it is hot and tastes delicious

hot instant live dhokla is ready to be served

very soft and spongy

tastes delicious

serve it with coriander tomamto dip

take any dip as per your choice

or have it without any dip
with tea

tastes scrumptious

made very easily

make it in breakfast or as snacks
